Transatlantic Strategy Group is an international advisory firm led by John Gatto, a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience at the intersection of global business, public policy, and cross-border collaboration. With a presence across Europe, the U.S., and Southern Africa, we guide clients on market entry, international strategy, and high-level engagement where business and government meet.

Our expertise is built on deep knowledge of U.S. and European political, legal, and economic systems. Founder John Gatto holds law degrees from the University of Wisconsin and Justus Liebig University in Germany and is fluent in English, German, and French—equipping him to bridge legal, cultural, and business landscapes.

We work with Fortune 500 companies and government clients in defense, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices, including Boeing, Johnson Controls, Oshkosh Corporation, SC Johnson, UPS, and Harley-Davidson. Our services span defense procurement, investment projects, market expansion, government relations, and public-private partnerships.
We also advise state and regional governments in Germany and the U.S.—including North Rhine-Westphalia, Hessen, and Wisconsin—on trade, investment, and diplomacy. In 2024, we expanded into Southern Africa, conducting energy and infrastructure market assessments in Namibia.

About John Gatto
John Gatto is an accomplished international executive with 20+ years of experience leading strategic growth, government relations, and cross-border operations across Europe, North America, and Africa. Fluent in English, German, and French, with additional Russian proficiency, he combines multilingual expertise with dual legal training in the U.S. and Germany to advise clients on international trade, market entry, and global expansion.

Holding both a Juris Doctor (University of Wisconsin Law School) and a Doctor of Law (Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany), John bridges business, legal, and governmental landscapes with advanced expertise in international law and trade. He has led major initiatives for Fortune 500 companies and government agencies in defense, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices, while cultivating trusted networks across U.S. and German governments, business, and academia.

With hands-on leadership in cross-border team management, EPC projects, and market expansion in complex regions such as Namibia, John brings cultural fluency, diplomatic skill, and a collaborative approach that consistently deliver impactful results for global clients
